Biography:Dr Richard Grayson was born and brought up in Hemel Hempstead. Educated in local Hemel schools: Lime Walk primary and Hemel Hempstead comprehensive. Studied at the University of East Anglia (1st Class Honours in English and American History) and Oxford University (doctorate in Modern History). Director, Centre for Reform (think tank) 1998-1999. Liberal Democrat Director of Policy in 1999-2004. Now Head of department and a Senior Lecturer for Goldsmiths, University of London. First stood for Parliament in 2005 for Hemel Hempstead and achieved a 4.4% increase in the the Lib Dem vote share, a greater increase in vote share than achieved by the main political parties in Hemel.
