Fix 1: Residents post sign on broken lamppost

7.39.00am GMT Tue 24th Feb 2009

Liberal Democrat County Council Candidate for Vicarage and Holywell, Susan Gaszczak, was surveying the area for road damage today when she spotted the sign showing Herts County Council's failings. Residents are so fed up with the service they get from Herts Highways they have named and shamed the lamppost in Hagden Lane that has been out for 3 months!

Susan said: 'I could not believe it when I saw the sign. I noted the number down and tried to report it but the County Council's system is down and they have no idea when it will be fixed. You are left wondering if the light will ever get fixed.

'I have emailed officers to ensure that some action is taken. This is why "Fix 1" of our manifesto 'Six to Fix' is so important. Residents deserve a decent service.'

NOTE: A photograph of the sign can be found in our Facebook group - come see!
