Lib Dems request reinspection of Adult Services

2.39.00pm GMT Tue 9th Dec 2008

Following the publication of Commission for Social Care Inspection Report into Hertfordshire's Adult Care Services the leader of the Liberal Democrat Group has written to the Secretary of State for Health asking for the service to be reinspected.

Chris White said: 'The report gave the Tory-run council 3 stars, yet the complaints and comments we have received do not reflect that rating. Not only have patients and their families contacted us, but staff and referrers to the service. Even this week I have had contact with a member of staff who still has concerns around service delivery.'

Chris continued: 'This is remarkably similar to the inspection report into Children's Services in Haringey, they were awarded 3 stars yet were a failing service. Losing an adult in your care is as serious as a child. We have concerns this service is not robust enough.'
