A new Facebook Group has been launched to spread the news of how bad litter is in Boxmoor. It is called 'Keep Boxmoor Tidy - Spread the Photos'.

Boxmoor resident, Richard Grayson, who set up the group, said:

"Because I am an election candidate, people get in touch with me with all sorts of local problems. Having seen the litter close to my home, in an area I regularly visit, I decided to act simply by taking photos and spreading them around. I am sure that most of the people who make the mess have no real idea what they are doing and I am hoping that the pictures and peer pressure will make them think again. I set up the group just before 7pm on Sunday evening, and told about 15 Facebook friends who live in the area about it, plus sent a couple of emails. Within little more than twelve hours it had 75 members and I expect it to grow further. The idea is that anyone who joins it can post their own photos and spread ideas on how to tackle the problem. Over the years local people have seen this problem get much worse, and I really hope that public pressure can help here."
