The Liberal Democrats achieved a significant increase in their share of the vote in the general election in Hemel Hempstead. Dr Richard Grayson and supporters celebrated an increase in the Lib Dem vote from 5,877 to 8,089. The full results were:

Labour 18,501
Conservative 19,000
UKIP 1,518
Commenting on the result, Dr Grayson said:
"This result gives us a firm foundation on which to build a winning team at the next election. I am committed to Hemel and will be working hard to win next time."
