The closure of Hemel's Accident and Emergency facilities on 7th October is a 'scandal', says Dr Richard Grayson, Hemel's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate.
The announcement by the West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust of its draft Operational Plan 2008/9 proposes the loss of Hemel's A&E and acute in-patient beds by 7 October 2008. Commenting, Dr Grayson said:
"This is a scandal, and totally against the wishes of local people. All the so-called consultations have amounted to nothing as the Trust rides roughshod over local people. I hope that the Labour Party is now clear with people about what is happening to Hemel hospital, rather than persisting in the insulting line that services in Hemel are getting better."
