The cost of removing rotting teeth in children and teenagers has risen by two thirds in just 5 years. Multiple tooth extraction in under-18s accounted for 41,000 procedures in 2014/15 and now cost the NHS £35 million a year.
By a margin of just 3.8% the majority view in the Referendum was that we should "leave the European Union". I cannot, and you would not expect me to, conceal my bitter disappointment at this decision.

We will stand strong and uphold the EU's core values of promoting peace and the well-being of its peoples. The Union of 27 Member States will continue. The Union is the framework of our common political future. We are bound together by history, geography and common interests and will develop our cooperation on this basis. Together we will address our common challenge to generate growth, increase prosperity and ensure a safe and secure environment for our citizens. The institutions will play their full role in this endeavour. We now expect the UK government to give effect to this decision of the British people as soon as possible, however painful that process may be

We were so sad to hear of the sudden death of Sylvia Saul. She and Geoff have been stalwart figures in our community for many, many years. Sylvia will be remembered for her cheerful hard work for the Red Cross, for Meresworth, working in the library at Shepherds School and many other local organisations and events.
