Time is running out to have your say on the future of New Surgery The New Surgery in Tring has been led by a single GP, Dr. Hall-Jones, for 29 years. As Dr. Hall-Jones retired in January, Herts Urgent Care has taken on GP services at the practice on a caretaker basis. There is currently a contract in place for up to 8 months, from 1 February 2016, for this arrangement to continue, but it is not possible for this to be a permanent solution.
On Tuesday 10th May, Essex County Councillors from all parties united to oppose the forced conversion of Essex schools into academies.
Cambridge North station is one of the infrastructure projects initiated by the Coalition Government to stimulate the economy. It is to be constructed at the Chesterton sidings on the Fen Line from Cambridge to Kings Lynn near the Cambridge Science Park, but the project has been subjected to several delays. Early warnings appeared in April 2010 when Conservative election literature meekly remarked that the station would never be built. This negative political stance might explain the subsequent handling of planning by the Conservative controlled Cambridge County Council (CCC).
Village life has always been valued for its closeness and sense of community and villagers come together in a variety of ways in different clubs, groups and associations. Principal among these are of course the Parish Church and the Village School.
Despite a low key campaign as the Lib Dem party concentrated on several important local authority elections across the county, Lib Dem Herts County Councillor, Chris White nevertheless brought in a creditable result.
