Now in its sixth year, the Tring Together Spring Fayre runs for two weeks from 23 April to 7 May 2016. The aim is to bring the local community together and promote well-being through healthy outdoor pursuits.

New Trains for Northern Rail as Successful Franchise Bidder Arriva Takes Over on 1st April, 2016
As one of the main requirements for the letting of the next 9-year Northern Rail franchise to run rail services in the north of England, the successful bidder Arriva has placed an order for 98 new train sets. These are to replace the unloved and inadequate Pacer trains currently operating across much of the network. The £490 million deal is being financed by Eversholt Rail.

New £2bn Cut to Public Services Attacked by Liberal Democrats
Hidden in the Chancellor's Budget was a backdoor £2bn cut to public services. This cut has been attacked by Liberal Democrat Education spokesperson John Pugh.

Tring and Berkhamsted Liberal Democrats' Response to the West Midlands Rail Franchise Consultation
Tring and Berkhamsted are two important stations served by the suburban services currently run by London Midland. The rail services are now attracting more and more commuters coming not only from those two towns but also from the surrounding countryside as much as 20 miles away. Many commuters are now reaching the stations by car and there are consequently serious capacity problems. The car parks are full by 0930 most days and latecomers are parking in surrounding residential areas, on roads and in the nearby lanes.

Liberal Democrat County Councillor for Tring, Nick Hollinghurst, has recently been finding his way round his new responsibilities as Opposition Spokesman on Community Safety, Waste Management, Strategic Planning, Transport and the Environment - a broad spread indeed of committees to try to keep track of! But last month it took him somewhat off course and into the world of property management.
