Birmingham's Tram Route Extension Reaches Bull Street as First Step Project Delivery

As part of the Coalition Government's investment in infrastructure programme - aimed at boosting the UK economy - an early decision was taken on the £128 million Birmingham city centre tram extension and work started in the streets in 2013. Now passenger services have started running to the Bull Street stop on Birmingham's Midland Metro Services, marking the first time trams have run in this part of the city since they were withdrawn over 60 years ago.

London Road, Tring, Crossing at Pound Meadow - Further Work to Cure Visibility still not Done

Last week the hedge along London Road, Tring, was flailed - but that just took off the new growth and stopped at the woody stems. The result was a great improvement - but not nearly enough. This morning I sent off another e-mail to Dacorum Borough Council's Clean, Safe and Green Department.

London Road, Tring, Crossing at Pound Meadow - Visibility still not good enough

The crossing over London Road, Tring, at the end of Footpath 41 across the Pound Meadow is used by many people, including hundreds of school children on their way to and from Tesco. Poor visibility here has been a problem for a long time and Herts County Council put in an extension to the safety barrier to help improve matters.
