Decisive Win for Liberal Democrats in Berkhamsted East By Election on 13th June

The by election was caused by the death of the former Liberal Democrat councillor, John Lythgoe, and was heavily contested by the Liberal Democrats, Conservatives and by UKIP. The campaigns were followed with keen interest by the electorate and the turnout of 25% was reasonably high for a town council by election. The result (shown below) restores the position of two Liberal Democrats and 13 Conservatives on Berkhamsted Town Council. Newly re-elected Hertfordshire County Councillor for Tring & the Villages, Nick Hollinghurst, is a member of the Orchard Children's Centre's Governance Group and attended yesterday's Governance Meeting in Dundale Primary School, Silk Mill Way, Tring. The centre has become an important community hub within the area.
